This Lagoon 420 is powered by two state of the art electric motors. This groundbreaking electric drive system is assisted by a 21 KVA generator which keeps the 24 maintenance free AGM batteries in top condition.

The Martha R is the charter version of the Lagoon 420 Hybrid with 4 double cabins, 4 heads and 4 large separate showers. In addition to having 4 queen sized island berths that you can exit from either side, the owners have upgraded the yacht by installing a large 4000 W inverter to convert the 72V battery banks to 110V household current for running such things as the microwave, toaster, blender, etc. This setup saves the 12V house batteries for other purposes, like running the 2 fridges, freezer, fans, lights, GPS, and other electronics.

Another feature of the Martha R is its 16000 BTU air conditioning unit that runs off the inverter and not the generator. Thus, if your batteries are charged up, you can run the air overnight, and not have to run the generator until morning. The Martha R is designed as an energy saving yacht, and the single air conditioning unit, with 3 cooling outlets, is provided for night time use only, and is not intended to cool the boat down during the heat of the day. Cabin doors have to remain open for cooling to reach the aft cabins and cabins do not have individual temperature controls. There is no additional charge for this single AC system and therefore TMM will not consider any refund requests relating to this piece of equipment.
