The
TMM Management program is simple and straightforward financially. TMM
keeps your yacht busy chartering when you aren't using it. TMM earns its
revenues 2 ways - booking charters on owner's yachts and maintaining the
fleet.
- Charter
Revenues Charter revenues are split 75% to the owner and 25% to
the TMM reservations office, outside charter brokers and travel agents.
- Yacht
Operating Expenses Each yacht is billed monthly for dockage, charter
preparations, maintenance, and repairs. Yachts are billed periodically
for costs such as insurance, replacement of linens, and other general
expenses.
- Reporting
and Payments The yacht owner receives a statement each month detailing
the revenue generated on their yacht, and the operating expenses.
The owner receives a check for the amount of revenue in excess of
costs.
- Maintenance
Records Along with the monthly reporting of income and expenses
is detail of maintenance repair performed on your yacht.
Tax
Benefits
We are not tax advisors. However, we do know that investment in a charter
yacht may qualify as a second home - making the interest on a mortgage
deductible. And depending on how your investment is handled, it may allow
you to qualify for other tax benefits. We encourage you to consult with
legal, accounting, and tax professionals before you enter into an investment
in a charter yacht.
The
TMM Yacht Ownership Program
TMM Yacht Charters has been managing yachts for private owners in
the BVI since 1979. The TMM philosophy has always been to focus on personal
service - providing top quality charters to our charter clients, and provide
charter management services to our yacht owners at a fair rate. For this
reason, TMM has come to be known as the quality yacht Management Company
in the islands. This is reflected by our repeat customers, satisfied owners,
and by the readers of Cruising World Magazine, that rated TMM the best
company in the BVI.
Purchasing Your New Yacht through TMM
TMM knows that every yacht owner has different priorities and different
reasons for owning a yacht, which is why TMM is so flexible about the
types of yachts we accept in our fleet and the optional equipment our
owners call for. TMM does not set the strict set of rules that every boat
should be exactly the same, like some of the larger charter companies.
Through years of experience, TMM knows what types of yachts, equipped
appropriately for charter, will serve the owners needs and meet the owners
revenue expectations.
TMM has established relationships with the world's premier shipyards,
including Jeanneau, Beneteau, Lagoon, and Fountaine-Pajot. As the yacht
owner you are invited to take part in the design process of your boat
- TMM will work with you and the manufacturer to guide you to the best
choices for durability, convenience, easy maintenance, desirability as
a charter yacht, and revenue generating capacity.
Compare
others with TMM
Compare a TMM yacht with a standard charter company boat, you will see
the difference. TMM installs heavy duty equipment and gear that add lasting
value, ease of maintenance, plus owner and customer satisfaction. Sea
Frost Engine Driven Refrigeration, Custom Heavy-Duty Cockpit Biminis,
Upgraded Mechanical and Plumbing Systems, Full Electronics, and a Rigid Bottom
Inflatable Dinghy are just a few examples of equipment that are standard
on TMM Yachts.
Luxury
Line Yachts
Luxury Line Yachts from
TMM, including the Jeanneau Sun-Odyssey 52.2, Beneteau 50, Jeanneau Sun-Odyssey
43DS (Deck
Saloon), Lagoon 470 Catamaran, and Fountaine-Pajot Bahia 46 Catamaran
all include Generator and
Air Conditioning as standard equipment.
Your Yacht is a Substantial Investment
TMM is your partner in the successful operation of your yacht as a business.
The TMM Management Program is a traditional management program, easy to
understand and manage.
While owner participation is welcome, it is not required. TMM handles
all aspects of operating a yacht as a business, from marketing, to hands
on management, to monthly reporting - ownership through TMM is completely
hassle-free. TMM yacht owners spend their time enjoying their yacht when
they are in the islands, and the revenues generated from charter activity
when they are at home.
TMM has established relationships with professionals including CPA's,
tax advisors, marine lenders, and the leading insurance companies to be
sure that you are always receiving the best advice and making the most
of your investment.
Fleet Placement Availability
TMM's fleet is made up of monohull sailing yachts from 36 to 50 feet,
catamarans from 35 to 47 feet, and Trawler Motor Yachts.
TMM's fleets are limited to 40 yachts at each base. The numbers of yachts
in each class and size category are further limited, to ensure the best
fleet occupancy. By limiting the size of the fleet and number of like
yachts, yacht owners are ensured of good charter occupancy and revenues.
All of our used yacht sales are handled by BVI Yacht Sales - drop them an email as we often have boats between 5-7 years old leaving our fleet
